The Preacher’s Daughter Shocks The World!

Ronda Rousey’s SHOCKING defeat!

On Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey stepped foot into the octagon once again to defend her Bantamweight Title against the underdog, Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm.

In the first round, the more Holly Holm stayed out of Rousey’s reach, the more the champion became frustrated, and the more Rousey tried to unleashed a flurry of punches. After Holm escaped from an attempt by Rousey to lock on her signature armbar at the midway point of the first round, most people sensed that Holly Holm might survive the fight.

There were some signs of a win for Holm when she ducked under a haymaker of a left hook, the momentum sent Rousey flying face first into the cage. Sensing an unbelievable win for the underdog.  Then there was no turning back for the new champ.

When the first round ended, Holm seemed to have escaped any major injury. On the other hand, Rousey was bleeding. But no one thought that the end would come so fast and so unexpectedly. In the second round,  Holm came out with a crushing kick with her left to the side of Rousey’s head and neck and causing the referee Herb Dean to stop the bout.

Holm shocked the world and MMA fan base with a scintillating second-round knockout over seemingly indestructible Rousey at UFC 193, who in some ranking is considered the pound for pound in the UFC.

Entering the fight with Holm, Rousey had not been put to the test. Prior to the fight she had gone 12-0 inside the octagon with every single win coming by stoppage, 11 of those being in the first round.

Rousey has become a superstar by showing her dominance in the UFC. Her skill level appeared superior to her Bantamweight peers and continuing to get better every time she steps into the cage.

The gap between her skill levels seemed humongous compared to the others in the weight and in a sport which there are many ways to lose, she found different ways to win.

It is now time to put into perspective just how upsetting this fight was for Holm to completely dismantle Rousey en route to a second round knockout.

This may be considered one of the biggest upsets in combat fighting sports.
