Additional Lunchtime?

Students at La Joya Community high school deserve more lunchtime. With how long students wait for their lunch, additional lunchtime should be available for students. Having an empty stomach isn’t the case for a good school day.

La Joya students feel like they should have just a little bit more of an extended lunchtime for the benefit of having a concentrated mind. Do you get hungry and have those cravings for that extra sweet, perhaps you should have gotten a snack at the breakfast line. And by the time lunch hour arrives, you dash to the cafeteria to get lunch, but as soon as you get there the lunch lines are packed.

“You would not have enough time to eat and you would not be energized fully because of not being able to finish your lunch,” says Stephenie Ortega, freshman at La Joya.

Do you agree? Having either additional lunchtime or having more staff at La Joya would have the benefit to learn and stay focus in class rather than having a growling stomach and not giving you the concentration to learn. Unless you snack in between class hours, but then again you are rushing yourself through eating and it is not a good thing, imagine choking on a snack, which is a safety issue.

Having extra time for lunch would mean that every student would have no excuse for not participating in class. With a fully satisfied and extra free time to spare at lunch is enough to be ready and prepared to learn.
