The two candidates running for Sheriff of Maricopa County

On November 8th, the new President of the United States is being elected. Not only the president is being elected, but also the new Maricopa County sheriff. Sheriff Joseph Michael “Joe” Arpaio has helped many, but has also damaged many families and friendships. It’s time to head out with the old and in with a new sheriff of Maricopa County.

Mr. Joe Arpaio has been Maricopa Country Sheriff for 23 years straight wining all 6 elections from 1993 to 2012. But ever since Joe Arpaio has been the sheriff for Maricopa County, there has been many families and friends broken apart. About 528,000 people were caught by Border Patrol in 2001. And in 2010 it self, there was 92,592 deportations in Arizona. Imagine how many families were separated and how many friends can’t see each other.

The population of Arizona has dropped dramatically in 2011 from 560,000 to 360,000: “Deportation fell in Arizona because there were 200,000 fewer people around to deport,” Arpaio states. The reason why the population fell was because Arpaio already deported most of the immigrants which didn’t leave that much to deport.

With the Election happening on the 8th of November, there is a chance to come in with a new sheriff of Maricopa County.  Arizona families don’t need to be separated no more. Arpaio has gone to far and it’s time his 23 consecutive years as Sheriff of Maricopa County should stop this November. Out with the old, and in with the new Arizona, everything starts with a big change and this November 8th, should be the day that change

starts. Adios Arpaio!
