Beverly is a strong and hard working induvial from running cross country and track but also becoming a semi-pro soccer player. He is a well-loved teacher working with our special ed students. Well Beverly journey stared back in 2nd grade when he seen all the other students playing soccer. From there it really drove him to push himself and he played all through middle school and high school then that’s when he started playing semi-pro. He also ran track in college. With having so much talent there can be a lot of tough days and training is one of them with cross country, his first run was 3 miles and he thought to himself there is no way I can do this but the more he did it the faster he got. Beverly’s fastest mile time was in college and he ran 4:10 and he says he will never see himself being that fast again. Bevery plays many sports like cross country, soccer, and track out of everything he dose he says that soccer is definitely his favorite because he has gave him so much. Beverly started coaching here at La Joya about 8 years ago. He wants to coach here at La Joya to give back, and show younger students that there is way more out there than what they know. Just coaching as a whole you learn so many life lessons and meet so many different people and just learning how to push yourself no matter what happens. As a coach Beverly gets to see and do a lot of things. One of his best moments is seeing students PR or seeing the students realize they are doing something good knowing how hard it is to run it may not look good at the moment but at the end when you go out to race you can see how you improved.
