While things here in Avondale seem to be heating up, Flagstaff is cooling down and has brought back the legendary Snowbowl. Yes, of course, there is the price matter-but not this Wednesday, January 27th! Anyone 17 years of age and under will receive free admission to Snowbowl only on this date, so make your plans while you can! All the more exciting, this date lands on an early release here at La Joya.
Regular admission prices will rise up to the mid $60 range by next week–a price YOU can avoid paying! Although there are discounted ticket prices on the majority of the days of the week, NOTHING can beat free! Snowbowl is a winter solstice for visitors to ski, making the best of the remaining weeks of Arizona’s not-so-everlasting winter.
It is recommended that skiers and riders remain hydrated and eat a healthy breakfast, keeping with you a few snacks to maintain energy while on the slopes. The attire suggested by Arizona’s Snowbowl official website is water-resistant clothes, lots of layers in case you get too warm, and of course, gloves and warm socks! Though it will be cold, the high elevation increases the impact of the sun. Therefore, sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm is highly recommended to be worn. To preserve a more consistent snowboard and skiing season, Arizona’s snow bowl maintains “natural” snowfall using machines.
Snowbowl also doubles as a resort, wherein cabins can be rented out and there are dining areas available-perfect for families! So if you’re sick of the Phoenix-area of Arizona, consider heading on up north to Flagstaff and checking into Arizona’s Snowbowl!
