All the hype and commotion of the 2017 Solar Eclipse has come to an end, but the pictures and videos will make it a moment to never forget. But not all people around the United States got to experience the Eclipse how others were.

Many Schools around the nation, decided that it’s for the best to not have school on the day of the Eclipse due to safety precautions. But not every school was closed, Many schools came to a decision that it was better for the students to have school on the day of the Eclipse. They decided to have the students and other school assistants so they could learn more about the things going on during the eclipse and how to view it safely; “ I was kind of mad when I heard that we had school while other schools did not. But now I’m glad we did have school because I got to learn new things about the Eclipse that I never knew.” said Diego Bonilla, Senior at La Joya.

Many students at La Joya High School got to experience the eclipse with Arizona’s Physics teacher of the year, Mr. Zachary Kovach. “It was an amazing experience to be able to see the solar eclipse, but also learning new information about it as well from Mr. Kovach.” stated

Jones, Senior at La Joya. Also with Fox 10 News Arizona and District Tolleson Union District Administrators here at La Joya, many students were surrounding the school with great safety techniques hoping to be on TV.“The Eclipse was over hyped and was lower than expected, but i still enjoyed being able to look at this special event with safety ISO glasses for my first time and I hope I came out on TV.” stated Sebastian Bonuelos, Senior at La Joya.

Although it was a once in a lifetime experience for some students of La Joya, it was also a once in a lifetime experience to be on the news during a Solar Eclipse.
