Karly Loaiza or better known as stage name “Kali Uchis” is an upcoming artist that has already made a name for herself in the past years by appearing on numerous amounts of notable albums and songs.

With her first  mix tape ” Drunken Babble ” airing when she was only 18, has gotten a lot of recognition for bringing a different type of sound like tracks “T.Y.W.I.G” and “Mucho Gusto” so on and so fourth.

“shes rising up to the top as a singer and i see her becoming a big person in the music industry” says Irlanda Johnston, current sophomore at La Joya.

2015 is where we have seen a maturity and settlement with her music flow. around this time we’ve seen her featured on songs by more familiar artist like Tyler the creator, the internet, Daniel Cesar etc. In between all this she has released her own album titled “Por Vida”. Loner being the most recognized song off it shows how she can deliver a happy and sad side to her music.

Being almost 3 years since her album “Por Vida” she is set out to release an album sometime this year. she has recently dropped her song titled “After the storm” that featured Tyler, the creator,  Bootsy Collins and Produced by BADBADNOTGOOD, which fans reacted to very positively.

When it comes to people critiquing the 23 she doesn’t take in the negative flow she gets from haters. As she once said herself: “Who cares if someone doesn’t like you? we’re all gonna die.”

“she has a real cool attire and i like the flow of her music, i especially like her feature on the song ‘perfect’ she sounded like a goddess. ” says Roman Vespucci current sophomore at La Joya

Being the person she is, i see a bright future in her music career and at the rate she’s going right now, i don’t see her slowing down any time soon
