Here at La Joya, we have two amazing people here who keep the technology fixed and running. They are our IT (Information Technology) guys.  Many students have issues with their laptops daily, and when this happens, they go to the IT guys who usually fix it. One of the IT guys; Enrique, says that “when a student’s laptop is broken, we take it to a storage container and try to use spare parts to fix it. If we don’t have any, we usually order parts for the said issue and then fix it.” This lets us know that the IT guys are not only resourceful, but also very skilled at their job. Many issues that students have will almost always be fixed. There is also a rare chance that a laptop is completely irreparable, when this happens the IT guys will typically try to salvage and then dispose of it.

With more minor issues, the IT guys will just shut down the computers, and troubleshoot them which typically works most of the time. They are typically found at room 701 and the library. Other than their work lives, our IT guys also do some fun things; Enrique loves all forms of music for example with one of his favorite bands currently is Queens of the Stone Age. Enrique also enjoys steak and many movies. Jorge on the other hand enjoys Hip-Hop and Rock but says it’s hard to choose, currently he enjoys listening to Mac Miller and watching The Goonies.
