In general, we all know that sleep is necessary and is crucial to your every day life. Sleep helps you think more clearly and focus better. But, getting the right amount of sleep is beneficial in ways you may or may not know. Getting enough sleep can help you reduce stress, improve your mood, and get along better with people. You most likely know those, but getting good sleep can also help you maintain a healthy weight, lower your risk of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease, and improve your heart health and metabolism.
Now, the downsides to NOT getting enough sleep. Not getting enough sleep can include many things, but the one main thing being sleep deprivation. If you don’t know how sleep deprivation can affect you, sleep deprivation can make you have trouble making decisions, solving problems, controlling your emotions or behavior, and coping with change. Sleep deprivation is also linked to many chronic health problems, including heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, obesity, and depression. So now, what will you do?
