Catherine O’Hara the beloved Canadian American actress passed away on Friday 30th, 2025 at the age of 71. Catherine is best known for her roles in ‘Beetlejuice’, ‘Home Alone’, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and ‘Schitt’s Creek’. O’hara’s cause of death was revealed to be to be caused by a Pulmonary embolism (a blood clot that causes a block in the artery of the lungs).
Catherine O’Hara began her work in a comedy troupe group known as Second City Television, after her time on this show she later went on to book a role in Beetlejuice (1988) as Delia Deetz. This role helped O’Hara gain more recognition, as her fame continued to flourish, she was able to book a role in what is known one of the most famous Christmas movies, Home Alone. Catherine played Kate McCallister which heavily solidified her status as a beloved Hollywood actress.
Her passing was shared to the public by her manager, who also later announced her cause of death.
