For the first time since the opening of La Joya Community High School, we have achieved an A rating. Throughout nearly 25 years, our campus has grown, adapted, and pushed forward, finally reaching a milestone that cements us among the best. The future of the Lobos is bright, and every day marks another step toward ongoing improvement.
Over the years, La Joya has seen remarkable growth. Our spirit is at an all-time high, reflected in events such as Homecoming, Trunk or Treat, and our packed athletic games. New clubs and classes have expanded student opportunities, showcasing the diversity and ambition of our community. Through leadership, determination, and the dedication of everyone involved, we have reached new heights and built the momentum to keep rising.
“Thank you to the staff, students, and parents who have worked so hard to make La Joya Community High School an A school for the first time in their existence,” stated Jeremy Calles, Tolleson Union High School District Superintendent.
La Joya now offers 21 AP courses and a Gifted and Talented program, along with clubs that support a wide range of interests. Our wide variety of clubs and classes ensures that every student has the tools needed to succeed.
“We won nationals last year, which showed everyone our effort and determination to be the best” shared Senior, Lukas Kilpatrick, a member of the Law and Public Safety Club.
Another key part of La Joya’s success is our consistently improving ACT scores.
“Ultimately, I contribute the teachers to the school’s success” credited Andrew Ernst, the school’s top ACT scorer.
His words highlight the commitment of La Joya’s educators, who continue working to make this campus the best it can be. La Joya Community Highschool’s A rating is a testament to the dedication and unity of all the students preparing for the future.
