As La Joya lobos are preparing for spring sports including baseball, softball, tennis, track, and the weather heating up. this 2025-2026 school year is coming into its final stretch and there are a few things to keep in mind as the year winds down.
During the last few months of the school year, stress is high, students balancing sports, homework, studying for tests, a lot is on the plate for high school students. With all the technology in this day and age the youth is held captive by it, from apps like TikTok to Instagram it is important to know how to take time to destress in natural ways and have more physical activity incorporated in the daily life. activities like finding a sport you like and going out to the park to play is a great way to blow off excess steam. From a junior lobo, Margarito Bautista,
“Outside of school I play soccer with my friends and then go out to eat”
being social while playing a sport is an amazing way to destress.
With finals quickly approaching planning and taking time to study is vital to student success, making a balanced schedule will build confidence and break fear. Having problems causes stress, and everyone has problems, controlling our response to stress is vital to proper responses. This La Joya senior shares how he prepares for test, Andres Hernandez Garcia says,
“I put on a 30-minute timer to study while listening to music, take a 5-minute break to do something fun, and repeat”
Taking control of your time is a sure-fire way to become better at anything you’re doing.
