La Joya Community High School is a place of warmth and belonging. From the staff to the students everyone has a place at La Joya. Everyone has contributed to our amazing A rating, by spending late nights doing homework, to perfect lesson planning. Greatness doesn’t come from individuality but from the combined effort of the best aspects of each person to create something bigger. Culture has shaped La Joya as positive, accountable, connected, and knowledgeable.
From our humble principle, Dr Sorenson,
“I am most proud of us being an underdog. People from outside our community may think we can’t do things…even some people in our community hate on us, but we are champions. People didn’t think we could be A-rated, win championships, become an IB school, etc. We are champions and there is no stopping us so bring on the hate and doubt. I love the haters!”
W proved ourselves to all who doubted. We are La Joya Lobos, the underdogs and we fight for what we have, and what we have achieved.
As the year comes to an end it is clear that students, teachers, and staff have poured everything into succeeding. To the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors good luck in all of your endeavors, and to the 2026 graduating class, we made it, we didn’t just pass through, we changed the game.
