When Santa starts wearing less and going out more!

At a mall in both Portland and Toronto, they have given Santa what you call a “Modern-day makeover”. For the past two years, “Fashion Santa” has become a big thing at Yorkdale mall.

They have hired a male model named Paul Mason with a gray beard who plays the part of Fashion Santa.

Fashion Santa has made the internet and for those who really love Instagram, he is everywhere. Instead of wearing the highly traditional red Santa suit, he wears clothes from the high-end fashion stores and also takes selfies with the costumers.

Every time a shopper takes a selfie with “Fashion Santa”, they are donating a dollar to SickKids Foundation with the maximum of $10,000.

SicksKids Foundation is one of the largest charitable funder for child learning and health in Canada. They feel improving the health of a child is one of the best ways to help improve society.

This is now the second year that Mason has played the role as Fashion Santa and hopes to continue so they can not only donate money to charity but also put a smile on people’s faces.

Now Portland’s Pioneer mall came up with their very own version of “Fashion Santa” but they call it “Hipster Santa”. Kris Kringle, almost dressed the same as Santa except he’s given a very old fashioned hipster look, who has a fixie and a typewriter by his side as well as a silver Christmas tree.

While most people appreciate their whole idea of this Fashion Santa, some people are afraid their kids will be scared and not want to approach a man dressed like this.

The original Santa was very bright and happy while this new Santa may be the same but is dressed very differently.
