People have been debating if SoundCloud is for mainstream or underground rapping. No matter if it’s mainstream or underground, La Joya High School students are joining the SoundCloud community and become the new come up.
SoundCloud is the website where any person that wants to share their music with people around the globe can do so. It’s also the place where todays new “Trap” artist and upcoming artist such as Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, Ski Mask the Slump God, and many more got their start to become what they are today. If it wasn’t for this platform, these new artist’ would not have had the amount of success they have at this point in time. And with all these great new artist, they have inspired many students that attend La Joya High School.
“It’s just the way that Lil Pump and Smokepurpp rap and the beat they use that get everyone that they are listening to hyped and in a partying mood because you can basically jam out to any of their songs” said Paul, a Junior that goes to La Joya.
One of many SoundCloud rappers at La Joya is a Junior named Paul Cebzan, with his stage name, YungPaulie. Paulie has over 530 followers on SoundCloud and has many collaborations with different rappers in the SoundCloud community. As of two month ago, YungPaulie released a song called “Everyday” and already has 3,229 plays and is still growing. Go and give a listen to his amazing music, http://www.soundcloud.com/yungpaulie/.
“I’ve been knowing Paulie for a while now, and it has been amazing to see him grow on SoundCloud and it is interesting to see how many people will discover the talent that he has in him” said Katyanna Valle, Senior at La Joya.
There is also a Sophomore named Michael Enero, with the stage name, Lil Schmeat that is making it big . He has 53 followers on SoundCloud and is slowly growing. His name has been getting heard all around La Joyas’ campus and seems to be getting fans from all the talk. His first song “The Race Remix” has 1,134 plays and 32 likes. He is really doing the music for entertainment and to have a good time. If you want to show some love and support to Lil Schmeat go to the link; http://www.soundcloud.com/lilschmeat/.
“I first listened to The Race Remix when it was barely within the first 100 plays, and I liked the way he was just doing it for the fun and isn’t really trying to bash on anyone throughout his lyrics” said Adrian, a Junior attending La Joya.
SoundCloud has an impact on La Joya that will potentially lead for some of these underground rappers and singers to one day become big and let thousands of people listen to the talent they have inside them.
