On September 14, La Joya’s Varsity Volleyball girls struck victory against Sierra Linda high school’s Varsity volleyball team with a score of 15-13 in the last set.
We had the chance to catch up with Jasmine Garcia, a senior, the libero and #5 of the team.
We asked what was the most important and interesting thing that happened that night of the game and she responded with, “All of us were exhausted and we were losing,” but the Lady Lobos were able to bounce back for a 15-13 win.
We also got a interview with the Varsity Volleyball team’s outside hitter, #11 junior Elizabeth Leuck.
She was asked how the team gets ready for a game the day before game day and whether or not the team has any pre-game rituals.
She answered, “We usually have a light practice the day before the game and we pray and do our volleyball chant which is our usual pregame ritual.”
Not only did the Varsity volleyball team win but so did the JV team. Freshman fell a bit short to pull off a victory losing with a score of 23-16.
What’s Next:
The Lobos will only have a week to recover until they will host the Trevor Browne Volleyball girls on September 22.
Be sure to be there to support your Lady Lobos! We don’t know what the varsity volleyball team has in store for the rest of the season, but what we do know is that all 3 levels of the volleyball team have endless potential in them to make us proud.
