teacher feature, Anna skinner

Anna Skinner is a caring and motivating teacher who pushes her students to move forward and succeed. Anna Skinner is an Advanced Placement history teacher that helps students learn the importance of European History and also US History. Her motivation for teaching came from the encouraging words from her husband to take the teaching rout, at first Anna had gone to college to be an Archeologist but once she realized she didn’t want to take that path she started thinking it over and taking her husband’s advice, she became a substitute teacher and taught her first class. Now she’s been teaching here at La Joya for 7 years and loved it since.

Anna has always loved teaching history and wouldn’t change it for anything. Her favorite subject in school was English and History which is why she now teaches history here at La Joya. Anna has been teaching Advanced Placement for about nine or ten years, she encourages students to give Advanced Placement classes a try because they can show kids what trade schools or colleges might require of them in the future and can really take learning to the next level. “I think it’s great to be able to take a class and possibly earn college credits for it while they’re still in high school.” -Anna Skinner. She encourages students to give Advanced Placement classes a try and push your knowledge to the next level and be as successful as possible. ” Be a risk taker, An educational risk taker.”-Anna Skinner.
