Marvel Rivals is the brand new 6v6 hero shooter that actually uses heroes for its characters. specifically, those under the marvel brand name, meaning characters like iron man, Thor, spider man, and even moon knight.

The game launched on December 10th of 2024 or December 9th at 6pm in Arizona. The game launched with 3 modes, 4 game Modes. and a massive starting roster of characters to choose from day one all for free, 33 in total.

The games story is based on the web of destiny that controls all of the multiverse controlled by its 2 masters web weaver and spider zero, they originally gathered to figure out a way to repair the multiverse and end the madness with doctor doom but of course they disagreed on the method.

They disagreed so heavily that they gathered their own teams of multiversal heroes to fight one another in order to see who’s method would be implemented, this is the context that allows the gameplay to connect to the story, and the story to the gameplay. The game Modes consists of confirm kill, domination, king of the hill, and escort.

All of this takes place across different planets, timelines, and locations that all have contexts within the marvel universe, like Tokyo 2099, klyntar, hydra bases, Yggdrasil, and the kingdom of Wakanda that has expanded across the stars beyond planet earth in the story of marvel rivals.

The game is heavily addictive and shares many features with other hero shooters like Overwatch and paladins. one of these features being ultimate attacks, cooldown abilities and classes like support, dps, and duelists, or tanks. if you like hero shooters or the marvel IP then I greatly recommend the game as its free and cost absolutely no money to play and is available on all platforms besides the switch to play on.
