As lobos enter the 2nd semester of the 2025-2026 school year times moves quickly and with juggling clubs, classes, and relationships, it is difficult to stay an excelling student. learning how to balance your time is one of the most important skills you can learn. It’s not something learnt in a textbook, it’s something learned over life.
A typical day at La Joya starts with first periods class at 7:25 and it ends at 6th period at 2:12: but the day is far from completion. Thanks to clubs, homework, and tutoring, a student’s life is packed with activities one may ask where anyone finds time to focus on all these duties but as stated by senior Andres Hernandes
“I work hard to make sure everything gets turned in on time”
Yes, lobos can lead a packed life; time management is a skill taken and used throughout your college years and beyond. Everyone has a busy schedule and through trial and error, finding when the best time is to complete activities, by missing deadlines and failing to do things, it builds character and growth.
Most importantly leaving time for something fun and something you enjoy doing is essential for staying happy. Moments filled with doing things you like is a great way to de-stress, another senior Esteban Alegria says
“I like going fishing, it relaxes my mind, and helps me calm down”
Stress is high during times of tests, finals, applying for colleges and scholarships, it’s important to find time for you.
Building habits reflect the determination and growth, preparing our lobos for the future. Time management is more than a skill: it’s a mindset for success.
