Arizona has long been known for 2 things, the Grand Canyon and its blistering heat.
And that last one has been more known now then ever by its residents. These past 3 months has been hot with an average of 105 degrees, but with some good news the rest of this year is going to start to cool down with an expected 80-60 degrees average.
A good thing but it almost seems like that’s hotter then last year, and will it continue to get hotter in the upcoming years? Looking at some collected graphs of past years using (Arizona, United States) – Weather Spark, it clear to see this year was indeed hotter than the past few years. Now this could be due to the covid quarantine that happened not so long ago, but its more likely that Arizona is indeed getting hotter based off of the years before quarantine also being colder then 2024. A few things could be causing this increase in heat, whether it be global warming, greenhouse gases, or even a drought, its clear to see though that the temperature did indeed rise this year, breaking new heat records recently too
This trend isn’t necessarily proof that the next few years will continue to rise, after all there have been heat spikes and cold drops in other years in the past decade as shown in the graphs.
I for one hope it isn’t true at least. But it is good to think about when you go to the store and decide to not buy ice or some refreshing water, despite the fact you obviously should unless you have a clean water source at home.
