Have you heard the word about police brutality? Or do you ever just sit at home and see on the news how police treat people?
Statistics say police brutality fell by 60% when cops were required to wear a body camera while on the job.
So do police take advantage of their job when they aren’t wearing a body camera?
Well, have you heard of the Rodney King case in 2012? If so, you may know that he was a taxi driver in California and was nationally known for being beaten by Los Angeles Police Officers following a high-speed chase.
Videos show that four police surrounded King, striking him multiple times, while some officers stood around doing nothing. They were charged with assault with deadly weapons and use of excessive force.
After that incident, it appears that police now think nothing of it and just take advantage of their jobs.
Early in 2012, unarmed and young Trayvon Martin was fatally shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman.
What does that show people around the world, that police don’t care about another person’s life? Are people going to afraid to leave their own house?
These are questions that society is currently struggling to answer and trying to find the next step to stopping police brutality.
