At first, it was just a personal project for Wadle and his partner but after it released in October 2021, it gained popularity. In 2023, it was played around 4.5 billion times. Following its popularity, many different versions and even fan games came to be. Now let’s explain the rules, once a day a 5-letter word is chosen using the entire alphabet. You type in a possible word, and if any of the letters are black that means it’s incorrect. If they are yellow, they’re in the word just in the wrong place. If they are green that means the letter is in the word and it’s in the right spot. You get a total of six tries before the word is shown. Be mindful and do not spoil the fun for those who haven’t gotten to play yet and spoil the word.

I think Wordle is a great game. I’m a big fan of short word puzzles that aren’t too difficult and easy on the brain. I became a Wordle fan back in middle school when the link for the original still worked along with other fakes with similar mechanics. I was able to beat my friends in wordle challenges and had plenty of fun doing it. Certainly, I would recommend this game to any word puzzle lover as one of the best games to play. In my eyes, it’s definitely a top browser game for bored students such as me.
