How would you feel if you were kicked off a plane and people clapped about it?
7 -year-old Giovanni, mother Christina Fabian, and father George Alvarado were supposed to be on the next flight back to Phoenix. That was all interrupted when Giovanni got hives and became itchy on the flight.
“He began to get very itchy and he was scratching all over. He started to get hives, so we informed the flight attendant who informed us that there is dogs on every flight… which minimized his experience for me,” said Fabian.
The allergic reaction ended up delaying the flight and soon after the family was told they would have to leave the plane. The family understood why they had to leave so that wasn’t the problem. While exiting the plane, they saw and heard people from the back clapping.
Giovanni’s feelings were hurt. The people who clapped didn’t know the full story as to why the family was even on the plane.
They were unaware that this family’s trip was on their bucket list. “My dad is sick with stage four cancer,” said Giovanni.
Giovanni’s father is terminally ill and doesn’t have much more time.
While waiting for their next flight they turned the bad situation into a lesson.
“You don’t know how much time people have or why they are hurting. Just be nice. Be kind” said Alvarado.
The airline has sent out their apologies for their negative experience.
Is an apology really enough though? Alvarado is a terminally ill. This is just another example of why people should watch what they do. You don’t know peoples’ stories so why should you deserve to judge them. People need to learn how to be more respectful, patient and sympathetic.
