New Year’s resolutions date back about 4000 years to the ancient Babylonians. Where at the end of their calendar year they would make promises to their Gods. And ever since then each people have been making resolutions to themselves in hopes of going through a metamorphosis.
Usually, these resolutions have something to do with eating healthier, staying on top of your work, or overall being a better person. And us lobos are no exception to that, many of us hope our attempts at become a renewed version of us the next year are not in vain.
My personal resolution is to be more understanding, everyone in the world could use a little bit of kindness especially right now.
“My New Year’s Resolution is to stop procrastinating, and to have better eating habits,” says Junior Maryah Carrasco.
Although infamous for being left behind in the dust of the new year, many people put in genuine effort to reach their goal. Rather or not followed through resolutions are a good way to self-critique and milestone in being able to make realistic changes.
“I think News Year’s resolutions are important because they give people the chance to grow and expand,” said Maryah when asked what was important about New Year’s resolutions.
Through the years they have adapted from mighty promises to forces greater than ourselves to something we aspired to be or become. Despite that the message is the same: we all have growing to do and it’s never too late to start it.
