January 3rd, 2026, Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro was captured along with his wife Cilia Flores. The plan to capture Maduro were meticulous, according to joint chief’s chairman Dan Caine,

“It took months of intelligence work to find Maduro and understand how he moved, where he lived, where he traveled, what he ate, what he wore, what were his pets.”

It was carried out by U.S air and naval forces taking approximately two hours to complete, the strike against the Venezuelan president consisted of more than 150 aircrafts, and personnel from U.S military and intelligence agencies. Minor injuries were inflicted upon Cilia Flores, and she was she bandaged after being captured and transported to NYC with her husband, as for Maduro he sustained no injuries.

The reason for the invasion and capture of President Maduro was stated by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi via X, stating that Maduro and Flores have been indicted with

“Narco-Terrorism Conspiracy, Cocaine Importation Conspiracy, Possession of Machineguns and Destructive Devices, and Conspiracy to Possess Machineguns and Destructive Devices against the United States.”

Nicolas Maduro’s first hearing was January 5tth, where he pleaded “Not guilty” to charges of narcoterrorism and conspiracy brought against him by the U.S government, his second hearing will be March 17th in what may be a lengthy trial,
