With Halloween just around the corner, there are going to be many trick-or-treaters, so here are some of the dangers of trick-or-treating this year to ensure that you can have a fun but safe Halloween.
One danger you should be cautious of is allergies. Make sure you are aware of any allergies you have. And see if you are allergic to any candies that you have before you eat it.
“People need to be sure that no one has messed with their candies,” said Renata Valdivia 10th grade.
Another danger that you should think of is that people may tamper with your candies. People can inject harmful substances into the candies. Make sure to check your candy for any tears or pinholes before you eat them.
You should also be cautious of kidnappers. If you are out with out an adult, it makes it easier for a perpetrator to potentially harm you. Be sure to check your surroundings.
“When you are trick or treating, wear your mask so you don’t get Covid,” said Marelene Diaz, 10th grade.
As we are still in a pandemic, you have the possibility of contracting COVID-19. The people who pass out the candies may have Covid and not know. You won’t know if they are sanitizing their hands. So you should be sanitizing your hands and disinfecting your candies before opening to avoid getting Covid.
“Trick or treating is fun but there is always crazy drivers,” said Renata Valdivia, 10th grade.
While trick or treating, the cars around you may be a danger. The people who are driving may not see you which would cause an accident. Or people may be driving under the influence and crash into you. Be sure to look both ways before crossing roads to make sure you are safe.
Halloween should be a fun and safe night for both adults and children.
