Over the summer, La Joya has made great improvements to the culinary class.The reason why this is such a hot topic is because of all the new material and items found in the class, from a chef’s demo area to industrial equipment even a new walk in refrigerator.These kinds of improvements are something that benefits our district a big shout out to West-Mec they were a huge helping and taking over the La Joya’s kitchen in improvements as a whole.Which can help a lot of the students that wish to take this class or that have took this class last year that are joining Chef Rupe again this year.Chef Rupe is the instructor of the culinary class this is her fourth year in education, and her ninth year in the culinary field.Chef Rupe’s main purpose as an instructor for her students is to succeed.
“I want my students to walk out of here to be able to get a job, statistics show the 95% of people will get into culinary fields in some way or form.” Said Chef Rupe.
This just goes to show how much are La Joya staff cares about our students and their learning. Chef Rupe also says that she wants her students to have an advantage when looking for a job.
A student of Chef Rupe that is now taking culinary 3-4 Abigail Rodriguez, describes how happy she is with the new improvements to the kitchen, she also said how being in this class can help her in future career of being a entrepreneur mostly of the part being because of the new additions to the kitchen. She also talks about the new improvements to the class over all.
“I’m actually pretty excited, she says are going to cook more last year was a lot of book work.” Said Abigail.
“We will be opening up a cafe later on this year.” Said Chef Rupe.
So, get excited about that new cafe opening up this year.
