Every year, Downtown Tolleson host an event called Luces de Navidad. Luces de Navidad is a fun, friendly, family event that everyone can come out to and enjoy. It is located in Downtown tolleson from 94th to 91st Avenue and Van Buren St.
This year Luces de Navidad will be held on December 8th and 9th, which is a Friday and Saturday. On both days they will have different events and foods.
On Friday December 8th, from 7 to 9 p.m. they will have different kinds of food and desert including, a chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows.
On Saturday December 9th, they will have different events all day long. Many activities for kids will be available throughout the day, including face paint and arts and craft.
Bryan Valdez, a senior said, “I went last year and it was so much fun, cold but fun”. At the end of the day, on both nights, a christmas light parade is held to celebrate christmas. Different kinds of floats pass through downtown Tolleson while everyone who is watching is sitting on the sidewalk enjoying the lights. Stephanie Ruvalcaba, also a senior said “The light parade was my favorite part of the whole thing. I enjoyed spending time with my family”. Both days will be filled with fun and enjoyment. Senior, Caleb Monge said, “I love going and hanging out with my friends”. Many people who go, get there early to make sure they have a good spot for the parade. Lucas de Navidad is definitely an event to go to and create many memories with loved ones or even with friends, that will last forever.
