Frances Coronado is currently a senior at La Joya High School also graduating with the class of 2018. She has been interviewed to give some advice to future students about keeping their grades up and why it’s important. Frances has played basketball her sophomore and junior year, and she will continue to benefit the team on last time.
“Stay focused, do not slack off, and if you need help do not be afraid to ask for it” said Frances
The last part is very important for the students who are really shy to ask for help. However she has joined a club called Jobs for Arizona Graduates or JAG for short, she has also taken the responsibility as the President. This club is all about preparing graduates for life after high school. This club teaches students about leadership skills, applying for scholarships, resume building, and many more.
“It is important to stay in school because school can determine your future, keeping your grades up can get you into a good college, and help you further pursue your education in the career you desire most” said Frances
There are many opportunities that can come from good grades as she mentioned. Attending a good college, and pursuing the career you wish; many more if the grades are good and consistent.
“Not asking for help can help you can hurt you in the long run for example when you don’t what the instructions were for the assignment, and you did the assignment wrong. Then you fail that assignment and it could have been a big part of your grade” says Frances
